If you hit your ball out of bounds or lose it (you have three minutes to search for your ball before it becomes lost), your only option is to go back to the spot of your previous stroke. The next shot will be your third (1 Stroke Penalty).
The new stroke-and-distance local rule allows players the option of dropping in the fairway if they so choose. Players must find where their ball went out of bounds and create an imaginary perpendicular to the fairway, no closer to the hole. From there, you can now drop anywhere within two club lengths behind the line. The next shot will be your fourth (2 Stroke Penalty).
Must not be nearer the hole than the estimated point where the original ball last crossed the edge of the penalty area.
Cart Path - If your ball ends up on the cart path, you get a free drop. If your ball or any part of your foot is touching the cart path you can take a free drop.
Casual Water - You get free relief if your ball ends up in a puddle. As long as your ball is not in a hazard (penalty area).
Plugged Ball - you are entitled to a free drop. The only exceptions are when you are in a sand trap or a hazard. You do not get free relief from these areas.
Ground Under Repair - If your ball ends up in GUR the golf course doesn’t want you playing a shot from that area, so take your free drop and continue your round.
Sprinklers - You get free relief if your ball ends up on or near a sprinkler head. When putting from the fringe you can move your ball to get a clear putting line (not closer to the hole).
Handicaps – All members & guests must have a handicap. If there are players with no handicap, players will have to play from their last official handicap or 24. Handicaps will be calculated for members with no handicap after the first two games.
Scorekeeping – All members must download mScorecard™ app for scorekeeping. Each 4-ball will have a captain on the day. The captain will be responsible for adding the stats to the app. The following items are recorded for each round.
- Score for each hole (We do not play medal; the ball can be picked up when the player can’t make more points on the hole)
- Putts per hole. (all putts count, even if the putter is used off the green)
- Balls lost are recorded as a penalty on mScorecard™. (This is only to keep count of balls lost during the current season of club champs)
R5 Fines are given for using the P word or using God's name in vain. Other R5 Fines can be given for funny/embarrassing situations on the day. Fines must be paid into the official Pretenders account. (This money will only be used for the member's Tour / Club events)
